Our Story

I started Saoirse during covid lockdown in 2020, I was struggling with my mental health and used jewellery making as a way of keeping myself occupied and distracted. It started as a simple hobby and soon turned into my biggest passion. I wanted to create a brand that not only showed my passion for making jewellery but also my passion for protecting the earth and helping the environment. I recycle most of the beads and charms used in my jewellery by finding unique jewellery in charity shops or car boot sales and breaking them apart to repurpose into something new, for the more specific beads I use I get them from small businesses that are based near me. By doing this I can make my jewellery more affordable to customers and also prevent waste from ending up in landfills. I am also sure to get all my packaging products from reliable eco friendly brands or small businesses and I make sure all packaging used can be widely recycled.

Saoirse started as a small account on depop where I posted bad pictures of my products and hoped for the best. I taught myself how to properly advertise my products and made sure to take some higher quality photos of my products. I slowly built my own website and set up my different social platforms to widen my customer reach as much as I possibly could. I designed business cards and changed my website over and over until I reached something I was proud of. It took me a long time to decide on a name for my business, I chose Saoirse because it is an Irish name that means freedom which is something I feel passionately about. I hand drew my logo as it is a way I finish the end of many of my wire wrapped pendants, I added a tree to the top of it for the full logo as I wanted to include part of the tree of life in my logo as I feel it represents support and freedom.

Saoirse has been a massive part of my life for the past 3 years and it has helped me through so many ups and downs in my mental health. I hope to keep growing as a person and a business and create a life for myself where I can focus on my jewellery and expand my skills. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and I continue to appreciate all the support and love I receive.
